Mark is very Jewish gospel, written with the Old Testament in mind. It refers to Jewish sources over seventy times, with a strong preference for the book of Isaiah, and never once does it explicitly refer to a Graeco-Roman source.

Isaiah 40:3–5 parallel Mark 1:4 plus Malachi 3:1

a voice calls out in the wilderness, ‘prepare the way for Yahweh! Make straight a highway in the desert for our God! . . . The Presence of Yahweh will appear.’

Mark 2:3-10 vs Psalm 103:2-3

Jesus forgives the sin of a paralytic man.

Mark 2:28 vs Ex 20:8

"The Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath”

Mark 4:35-41 vs Psalms 107:25-30

JESUS calms the storm.

Mark 6:45-52 vs Job 9:8

Jesus walks on water

Climax

Mark 14:55-64 vs Daniel 7:13-14

Jesus said "I am, and you will see the SON OF MAN sitting at the right hand of the power and coming with clouds of heaven."

In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man,[a]coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him.His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

Right from the start (2:10) JESUS calls himself "the Son of Man".
